Why users warm up to QuickBooks quicker than Simply Accounting
Brandon, MB, Canada, 19th Apr 2022, King NewsWire, Sage 50 otherwise known as Simply Accounting has been in the accounting market since the 1980’s.
Since then, the company has launched dozens of other Sage products and continuously updates Sage 50cloud. Sage 50 cloud accounting software offers traditional accounting, advanced features, and a high degree of customizability.
With 831k and 46.7k followers on Facebook and Twitter respectively, Sage has an extensive following on social media and regularly shares posts and the latest news on its profiles. Users on these platforms raised technical issues, and while there were certainly no negative reviews on social media, there weren’t sufficient praises either.
Sage 50cloud is quite expensive, especially when compared to competitors like QuickBooks. Adding additional users as well as some of Sage’s integrations and add-ons, such as Sage Payroll, Paya Payment Gateway, Microsoft Office, also add to the price.
While the name suggests otherwise, Sage isn’t actually cloud-based. It is desktop software with some cloud features, such as storing information on Sage Drive and accessing your Sage account from another device, if Sage 50cloud has already been downloaded onto that device. Sage also has a learning curve as it is geared towards accountants and business owners with accounting backgrounds and has a somewhat outdated user interface.
As far as pricing goes, prices vary anywhere from $300-$2,300 depending on a business’s needs. If opting for the yearly plan, the Sage 50 cloud subscription cannot be canceled at any time, and a minimum of a one year commitment must be adhered to.
Sage 50 cloud is ideal for medium to large-sized businesses with moderate to complex accounting needs and deep pockets, as the software can be quite expensive. The software is geared toward accountants or business owners with strong accounting backgrounds. The software is not meant for small businesses or those with little to no experience with accounting software.
In comparison to QuickBooks, this software has proven its stability over the years with its ease of use, smooth integration with other systems, flexibility with third party applications, and affordability.
QuickBooks Online is the stronger candidate for business owners who prioritize scalability and the ability to easily loop in accountants. QuickBooks Online is also less expensive. QuickBooks Online provides to an impressive marketplace of over 600 apps — including third-party tools as well as QuickBooks add-ons. Sage 50cloud touts 13 other applications, such as Stripe and VeriClock. A Microsoft 365 subscription and integration in order to use the Premium version, is however, required.
